Suffolk Libraries will be marking VE Day on Friday by sharing a live performance from local duo ‘Sing as we go! on our Facebook page.

From 11am to 12pm ‘Sing as we go!’ will be live-streaming a special Suffolk Libraries performance of songs made famous in the 1940’s with the occasional tune from the 50s and 60s.

The duo will be dressing up in outfits from the 1940s with special memorabilia on show for the VE Day performance.

Sing as we go! perform acoustic, sing sing-a-long songs which are easy for people to join in with. They usually perform in care homes, cafes and social venues and have previously given a very popular performance at Chantry Library before.

You can find out more information about Sing as we go! on their Facebook page.

Suffolk Libraries is also promoting a special collection of VE Day themed eBooks you can download.

Amy from Woodbridge Library has also shared a poem about VE Day by Brian Moses on our You Tube channel.
