We held the 3rd Suffolk Libraries Annual General Meeting last night at Suffolk Food Hall in Wherstead, Ipswich.
During the meeting the society:
- accepted the previous financial year accounts
- chose auditors for the next financial year
- voted for two board member positions
Tony Brown and Jonathan Ogden were required to step down from the Board and stood for re-election with three new candidates. The society re-elected both. The board comprises:
- Tony Brown (Beccles)
- Sylvia Knights (Bungay)
- Sue Buck (Long Melford)
- Anne Mallalieu (Glemsford)
- Jonathan Ogden (Kesgrave)
- Colin Rockall (Lavenham)
- Peter Callaghan (Brandon)
The vote for chair, vice-chair and honorary secretary will take place at the first board meeting after the AGM, on 24 September 2015.
Joanna Trollope gave a speech about the her role in the Library Task Force, noting how impressed she is with Suffolk Libraries and how the Suffolk Libraries model is a benchmark for other authorities. Her words were ‘Suffolk has got it!’

The evening, sponsored by Birketts Solicitors, Blue Star HR and Eclipse Office Furniture, was attended by just over 115 people.
