Bilbo The Lifeguard Dog: a true story of friendship and heroism, by Steven Jamieson

Every day until Christmas Eve, a member of Suffolk Libraries staff will reveal a book, CD or DVD they will be giving as a Christmas present, and why. Today, Natasha Catchpole from Bury St Edmunds Library recommends Bilbo The Lifeguard Dog: a true story of friendship and heroism, by Steven Jamieson.

Bilbo The Lifeguard Dog

This is a heart warming tale of an extraordinary Newfoundland, Bilbo, and his owner Steve Jamieson. As a puppy, Bilbo accompanies Steve to his job as a lifeguard. It’s not long before the lifeguard team realise Bilbo is quite a remarkable character, and he is trained up as a lifeguard dog. Full of amusing and heroic stories, it was a such a pleasure to read I didn’t want it to end.
