“Joaquin Phoenix stars as the DC Comics supervillain in this crime drama directed by Todd Phillips.

“Set in 1981, the film follows Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a mentally ill professional clown who aspires to be a stand-up comedian and lives with his elderly mother (Frances Conroy) in Gotham City. When he is fired from his job, Arthur begins a violent descent into madness that culminates in his rebirth as Gotham’s clown prince of crime.”

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

“Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning reprise their roles in this fantasy adventure sequel.

“Five years after the events of Maleficent (2014), Aurora (Fanning) accepts Prince Philip (Harris Dickinson)’s marriage proposal, but her fairy godmother Maleficent (Jolie) remains opposed to the idea and clashes with Queen Ingrith (Michelle Pfeiffer) over the young couple’s union before fleeing the kingdom. She is rescued by a group of kindred cast aside creatures plotting a resistance against Ingrith’s secret plans to start a war and destroy the faeries of the Moors, and joins their fight, placing her relationship with Aurora in jeopardy.”

Judy

“Renée Zellweger stars in the title role of this biopic centred on the later life and career of Judy Garland.

“As her private life descends into chaos with child custody issues, financial trouble and an escalating drug habit, Judy moves to London to reinvent herself and give her career one final shot. As her insecurities around her age and her deteriorating health begin to overwhelm her however, Judy must find the strength needed to make her big comeback.”

Abominable

“One day, while daydreaming about travelling the world, Yi (voice of Chloe Bennet) is shocked to discover a Yeti living on the rooftop of an apartment building. She names the Yeti Everest, and the two soon become friends. However, Everest is on the run from an extremely rich collector named Burnish (Eddie Izzard) who wishes to capture him and move him far away from his family in the Himalayas. Assisted by Yi, Everest manages to make it back home and along the way the pair discover each other’s magical abilities.”

Gemini Man

“Action drama directed by Ang Lee and starring Will Smith as government assassin Henry Brogan who encounters a younger version of himself named Junior (Smith). As Brogan confronts his boss, Clay Varris (Clive Owen), about the clone he learns that Varris is determined to retire Brogan and have Junior take his place. In order to save himself Brogan must face off against his clone.”

A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon

“Feature-length sequel from Aardman Animations following Shaun (voice of Justin Fletcher) and his flock of sheep as they try to help a lost alien find its way home.

“Shaun and his friends on Mossy Bottom Farm receive an unexpected visitor when friendly alien Lu-La (Amalia Vitale) crash-lands into one of their fields. Her arrival causes a frenzy in Mossingham, with the Farmer (John Sparkes) putting the flock to work to build a ‘Farmageddon’ theme park to cash in on the craze. Meanwhile, Shaun attempts to help Lu-La find a way home, but the Ministry of Alien Detection have their own plans for the alien creature.”
