Suffolk Libraries and coronavirus

  • Libraries will begin to re-open with a limited number of services from Mon 6 July
  • The mobile service will restart from Mon 6 July
  • No reservations, browsing or PC services
  • Customers will be able to email or phone for a selection of titles for collection at a pre-arranged date (details to follow)
  • The home library service remains suspended

Services

  • Online reservations will not be available immediately
  • No browsing of titles in libraries
  • Customers will be able to call or contact us online to request a selection of titles based on genre or author, which we’ll make available for collection. More details to follow.
  • Returns and issues to be made with self-service machines
  • No cash payments in libraries, card payments only
  • You can now pay outstanding charges and fines online
  • All in-library events remain suspended (see our online events)
  • No printing, PC usage or room hire

Loans, renewals, reservations and charges

  • There will be no charges for CD and DVD loans
  • All overdue charges on loans made after 1 February remain suspended until 31 August. We will continue to review this date.
  • All existing loan charges remain frozen until 31 August. We will continue to review this date.
  • Check your account online
  • Customers won’t be able to make new reservations
  • Reservation collection dates for existing reservations will be extended indefinitely so they should be available when libraries reopen
